And with that round 1 is in the books and what a round it was. We saw four teams come away with the win and 4 teams find themselves in the losers column. But with 6 more rounds to go anything can happen and teams can find themselves in a deep hole very quickly. Let's take a closer look at this round's action.
Ladder after round 1

Game 1: Aging Action Heroes 2 vs 1 Orion’s Belters
Speaking of holes… Orion’s Belters have found themselves in a very deep hole. Not only did they come away with the loss to start their campaign, but also suffered a number of injuries and deaths to key positionals, losing a Wardancer, and a linemen to the God of Death and both Catchers for round 2. Orion’s Belters have a long road back to competitiveness.
In contrast, Aging Actions Heroes have demonstrated why they’re the early season favourites to take the crown. Star players, Sigourney Weaver, Arnie and Gina have reminded the league that they mean business and with Seve coaching them, Aging Action heroes are looking like the team to beat this season.
Game 2: Pestigormageddon (forfeit) 0 v 1 Gold Diggers
Unfortunately, Michael Kelly was blessed with the gifts of Nurgle and was struck down with sickness. This resulted in a forfeit, netting Michael Clements the win. A shame because these two teams would have revelled in the opportunity to destroy each other in round 1.
Sadly the rest of the league will have to suffer through two very resilient, tough and untouched rosters. Oh boy.
Game 3: Bjork 2 vs 0 Sons of Northern Darkness
Andy and Tom started their campaigns in true Blood Bowl fashion, with lots of violence. Andy piloted Bjork to a solid 2-0 win, netting 3 casualties along the way. Tom piloted a plucky Khorne team with gusto that would make the Blood God proud but unfortunately, the whims of Chaos are fickle and the Bloodspawn spent large portions of the game on the ground.
Game 4: 26th Century Fox 2 vs 1 The Crocomole Cold Ones
Josephine has done everything she can to make it hard for herself. She’s chosen a weak team that is susceptible to sustaining a high number of casualties. She’s competing against a large number of bash teams that will froth at the opportunity to face the Gnomes and yet she keeps on winning games of Blood Bowl.
She eked out a very tense 2-1 win against a plucky Lizardmen team piloted by league newcomer, Tim Potter. Tim has established himself as a capable coach who will benefit from the experience of the big leagues.
Additionally, the race to the top is well underway in the statistical categories. With 6 more rounds to go anything can happen.
